10 Fun First Date Ideas
1. Skip dinner and go for desert instead. Take the pressure off the first date by skipping dinner altogether and going straight to desert. A good go-to is anything Italian. Linger over coffee and tiramisu for an hour or two, and then finish off the evening with a stroll.
2. See a live performance. Whether it’s live, soft jazz at a dimly lit bar, an outdoor concert, or a local theater performance, take your date to a live performance for a truly memorable and fun first date.

3. Try out a winery together. Another great first date idea is to sip your way through an afternoon at a winery (or two) with your date.
4. See a movie at the drive-in theater. Seeing a movie in the cinema typically inhibits conversation on a first date. With a movie at the drive-in though, you can still chat and watch a movie with your date, all under the romantic, starry night sky.
5. Explore a new place together on a long walk. Get to know a new area of your city together by taking a long walk and exploring on foot. You may find a new café or restaurant together that you both love and want to come back to!
6. Sip on handcrafted cocktails. Sip on yummy cocktails at a cozy bar with your date, and try out new drinks with them. Better yet, check to see if there are any secret, hidden bars or speakeasies that you two can go to.
7. Visit an artsy museum together. Seeing art together is a creative way to spark conversation between you and your date.
8. Stargaze together. What date is more romantic than stargazing together? Grab a blanket and cozy up together under the starry night sky.
9. Get spooked on a ghost tour. Whether you’re into the paranormal or not, a ghost tour is a fantastic way to learn more about your city’s history. Book an evening tour for you and your date, and get spooked together.
10. Take a day trip. Whether it’s driving to a new town you’ve never visited before, traveling to see a non-local landmark, checking out a new place to hike, or just taking a drive for a couple of hours, going on a day trip with your date is another fun first date idea. Getting away for just a few hours and experiencing something new is always eye opening, especially when you’re with someone else.
